Details

Give Freeskiing icon, Sammy Carlson, creative freedom over his own ski design and what you get is a perfect package of a hard charging, jibby, playful pillow-popping powder weapon in the form of his pro model ski called the Whitewalker from Armada. Opposites attract with this ski. Lightweight and playful enough for a laid-back style but powerful enough to handle even the most aggressive skiers, the Whitewalker combines the best of both worlds. The Caruba wood core keeps the ski light for those foot-powered days in the backcountry while the carbon layups keep the ski quiet and stout enough to handle big exposed lines at breakneck speeds. Its rockered Pin Tips and Tails allow the ski to release in deep snow and reduce the skis tendency to deflect. Pair that with Armada's Smear Tech and as a result, you get a beautifully smooth and surfy ski for the deepest days. A stiff tail provides a lot of support for big landings and for making turns at high speeds, but the rocker profile and pinned shaped of the Whitewalker allow for quick turn initiation. Overall, this ski is a powerhouse of a powder ski with technical elements that make it knify and maneuverable at high speeds without sacrificing the stability needed to ski like Sammy C.
